BLOG #3 - CHAPTER 2

In this Chapter I read that the earliest of civilizations because relevant in 3500 BCE to 3000 BCE in three places which were Middle Eastern Civilization. I also noticed that the Xin, Shang, and Zhou dynasties were mentioned and it reminded me of the little excerpts we were doing out Analysis Paper on, on Xinchen and Claudius and who is the better leader. I also learned that I did not know the definition of Patriarchal and after researching it I learned that it meant relating to or characteristic of a system or society or government controlled by men (shoutout to dictionary.com) which made more sense reading about the portion of the chapter dealing with what I assumed was reality versus Patriarchal Ideal, which also drove me crazy because WHY PUT IDEAL AFTER A WORD I DO NOT KNOW THE DEFINITION OF LOL NOW I HAVE TO STRESS ABOUT BOTH WORDS COMBINED LOL. When I usually come across words I do not know the definition of when I'm reading I usually just look up the word before I continue reading, and this really put me through the struggle. But besides that harsh, harsh (I'm being dramatic play along) struggle of Patriarchal Ideal I also found astounding that goddesses were not idolized at some point in time. Which I was slightly offended by, because hello?! ATHENA?! I am not a big person on being a feminisit, but this really did make me rethink it (once again, being dramatic). Welp, that is pretty much the things that popped out to me, blog again soon (:
